Paul Temple
Paul's career began in the London Stock Exchange.
He changed direction when offered a graduate management training position with Beck & Pollitzer Limited, the engineering and logistics organisation.
He spent two years as a Management Trainee before being appointed Divisional Manager for GEC Henley in 1970 and in 1972 was promoted to Assistant General Manager for the South-East of England.
In 1973 he started his own business and in the following 12 years developed a Warehousing and Distribution company, building and growing into other business areas, including Property Ownership and Development.
In 1985 Paul accepted an invitation
to join Europe's largest office furniture dealership, Bristow Design
Systems, as a Director and held the post until 1989, when he was
head hunted by Bisley Office Furniture to become their Managing
Director.
Paul remained in the furniture industry, as a Director of two companies, until 1994, when he bought the rights to an oil filtration process and formed Countdown Filtration and Paul Temple Consultancy.
In 1998 he was asked to join and develop a recruitment consultancy, as an associate and adviser to its’ Managing Director. Whilst working within this sector he identified with the potential of web-recruitment and designed and developed GeeWizItWorks.
In 2002, Paul’s consultative background and inquisitive nature was put to the test by the approach of Open Orchard Ltd., a BT venture company, to develop an outsourced Human Resources division and to recruit and manage their staffing needs. The result is Staff Managed Services, a product of which the whole company is proud, since it offers affordable human resources management for small organisations.
James Osborn
James is Chief Technical Officer for the company and his role encompasses all matters relating to our web presence and the interaction between our clients, our suppliers and the Company's technical staff.
His career began in 1969, in the motor industry with British Leyland and then Renault UK in technical roles.
In 1987, he began a transport company; building the business to a fleet of nine vehicles before selling out to his partner to pursue his love of IT.
He joined Paul Temple in the capacity of Operations Manager, with the dual responsibility for the management of Countdown Filtration and our Systems development, in 1998.
James and his team are a focal point in helping our clients with their information and dissemination needs, having added the computerisation of Human Resource administration to our portfolio over the course of the last few years.
Tim Hardley
A Chartered Accountant, Scottish Institute and a member since 1979, Tim graduated in 1976 with a Joint Honours, Economics, Accountancy & Business Law. BA (2.1) degree from the University of Stirling,
After early technical training and chartered accountancy qualification with PWC, followed by financial controller of a large listed conglomerate his career progressed in a number of 'hands-on' increasingly commercial Finance Director roles. During the last three years Tim has held a position on the Board, at CFO and deputy CEO level, of a venture capital backed group.
Entrepreneurial, flexible and energetic, qualified professional, leading and supporting commercial entities both in the UK and internationally, he has expertise in a wide range of business sectors including, technology, media, manufacturing and general trading, with experience of 'start-ups' early stage and large-scale businesses.
With a strong track record of organising, developing and directing support functions (finance, legal, HR, commercial) that have directly contributed to the successful growth of several businesses, Tim's Job function includes full financial management and business developments of our HR outsource business with general responsibilities in all other business areas of Paul Temple Consultancy Limited.
Sue Martin
Applied and Pure Mathematics forms Sue’s educational background and following formal education it seemed inevitable that she would train in accountancy. In 1978 she joined Rowland Hall & Co, as a Trainee Accountant and during the next 6 years handled clients' accounts to Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet, Bookkeeping and Manual Payroll, Audits and general Professional services.
She was invited to join Seaplace Marine Consultants, as Company Accountant and Secretary, in 1982 and subsequently promoted to a Director of the Seaplace Group.
Her job function included all the normal accountancy functions as well as Personnel management, and HR functions. Sue was Trustee of the Group’s Pension Fund, the Administrator of their Spanish Branch; requiring her to gain a working knowledge of laws regarding movement of international funds. It was here that her interest and knowledge of HR began to develop.
Proficient in office refurbishment and similar Total Management responsibility including facilities, Sue's practical experience saw her involved in the opening of the Strickland Gallery in Fulham; ensuring the smooth running of exhibitions and other events held there.
Sue joined our Consultancy in 1991 and controls all aspects of the Future Business Centre/Staff-Right Recruitment business in our Stanford le Hope office. She also has responsibility for the recruitment of Secretarial, Admin and Clerical staff, our Payroll and Bookkeeping services, training applications and our Administration services to small businesses. Sue manages a staff of 4 and all client HR records-keeping and administration falls within her remit.
Working closely with the Consultancy's other senior management team, Sue is very much the administrative hub around which our company functions and having daily contact with clients and all members of staff, her personable and helpful style is a valued part of what makes Paul Temple Consultancy run smoothly.
